Product Overview

TopW's Metallic Series is the broadest metallic palette in our TPU color-changing film range: twelve shades running from Metallic Black and Metallic Volcanic Gray through Metallic Blue, Metallic Glacier Blue and Metallic Fog Blue to Metallic Leblon Purple, Metallic Midnight Purple, Metallic Amethyst, Metallic British Green, Metallic Tungsten Steel and Metal Silver, with Matte Ceramic Black for builds that suit a flat finish. Every one is a 7.5 mil thermoplastic polyurethane film, and every one does two jobs at once — it changes the colour a customer sees and it works as a car paint protection film, taking the stone chips, wash marks and road grit that would otherwise reach the paint.

Shops tend to stock the series as a set rather than a single colour. A customer who walks in asking for a metallic grey, blue or purple should not be limited to whichever roll happens to be on the shelf, and having black, steel, silver, blue, green and purple metallics from one line means one installation routine and one adhesive behaviour across every job in the bay. Metallic Shade Range

• Metallic Black: Silver flake held in a black base — near-black in a garage, then a sharp graphite sparkle across the panel in direct sun. The safest seller for black-badged, chrome-trimmed builds.
• Matte Ceramic Black: The one non-gloss option in the series. A soft-sheen black that hides fingerprints and reads wider on large panels; choose it when a customer wants the colour change without a wet look.
• Metallic Volcanic Gray: Dense gunmetal with a strong directional highlight; it flatters sharp body lines and gives this car wrap film the depth of a factory metallic.
• Metallic Tungsten Steel: A darker, cooler steel than Volcanic Gray, with the flake held back so it stays sober on executive saloons and wagons.
• Metal Silver: The brightest shade here and the closest to a factory silver; the fine flake keeps it from tipping into chrome.
• Metallic Glacier Blue: A pale, icy blue that catches light along the shoulder line. Popular on coupés and small hatchbacks, and one of the easier light metallics to keep looking clean.
• Metallic Fog Blue: A grey-leaning blue, quieter than Glacier Blue and more forgiving on dusty roads.
• Metallic Blue: A confident mid-blue with visible flake — usually the first shade a shop orders when it adds colored PPF to its shelf.
• Metallic Midnight Purple: Deep violet that behaves like black until light hits it, then shows its colour. Strong on dark, performance-oriented builds.
• Metallic Leblon Purple: A warmer, softer plum with a vintage feel, and noticeably lighter than Midnight Purple.
• Metallic Amethyst: Pink-leaning violet and the boldest of the three purples; it sells hardest on small cars and special builds.
• Metallic British Green: Deep racing green with metallic depth rather than a flat heritage tone; it sits well with tan or black interiors.

Metallic Finish & Reflection

The flake in this car wrap film is fine rather than chunky. Under a shop light you see a smooth, wet gloss first — the sparkle only appears when you move around the panel and the angle changes. That is the difference between a metallic that still reads as paint at a metre and one that reads as glitter at arm's length.

Because the effect is driven by light, the colour moves with the sun. Metallic Black is almost black indoors and graphite across the bonnet outdoors, while Glacier Blue and Metal Silver hold a bright highlight along the shoulder line and lose it in shade. On a full body that is what separates a genuine color-changing finish from a flat colored PPF panel — the tone shifts with the angle of the light, not only from panel to panel.

Choose by how the car will be used as well as by the colour card. Dark metallics such as Metallic Black, Tungsten Steel and Midnight Purple hide road film and stone-chip marks on daily drivers; light metallics such as Glacier Blue, Fog Blue and Metal Silver show dust sooner but photograph beautifully for showroom and social work. Where the brief is a pure, bright silver rather than a flake silver, our Silver Series is the closer match; for a wetter, more fluid metallic look, the Liquid Metallic Series is the better fit; warm gold tones sit in the Gold Series rather than here.

Protection & Upkeep

• Self-healing topcoat: Light scuffs, wash swirls and fingernail marks in the clear layer close back up when the panel warms in the sun or under warm water. On a reflective metallic, swirls show far more than on a solid colour, so this is the layer that keeps a dark shade looking sharp.
• Non-yellowing: The car paint protection film is built to resist UV yellowing, the failure that appears first on pale shades — Glacier Blue, Fog Blue and Metal Silver keep their tone instead of drifting cream.
• Water repellent surface: Rain beads and rolls off rather than sheeting, so there is less mineral spotting to deal with after a shower and drying takes less time in the bay.
• Stain resistance: Bird droppings, tree sap, fuel splash and road grime sit on the surface instead of soaking in; wipe them off promptly and nothing is left behind.
• Impact protection: The TPU protection film absorbs the light knocks — gravel, trolley corners, door edges — that would otherwise chip the paint underneath, so a colour change also buys protection.
• Easy maintenance: pH-neutral shampoo, a soft mitt and microfiber drying are all this finish needs. Skip abrasive polishes, cutting compounds and brush washes; they dull the topcoat and work against the self-healing layer.
• Spot checks: On a metallic, tar and industrial fallout show up as dull patches long before they damage anything. A tar remover made for PPF lifts them without touching the gloss, and a scuff that will not close up should be warmed gently before anyone reaches for polish.

Installation & Edge Seal

1. Prep the panel properly. Wash, decontaminate and clay the paint, then wipe with an IPA mix so no wax or polish is left between the TPU protection film and the clear coat.
2. Plan the layout before you peel. Vehicle-specific kits and plotter templates give a repeatable fit and keep blades away from paint; measure twice on bonnets, where a few millimetres of drift shows at the shut lines.
3. Wet out and position. Mist the panel and the adhesive with slip solution, set the film, then squeegee from the centre outward in overlapping strokes, pushing water and air towards the edge.
4. Stretch with heat, not force. Warm the film on bumpers, mirrors and tight radii and let the TPU do the work. It will take a long stretch, but it fights back if it is cold.
5. Seal every edge. Wrap the edges where the panel allows and post-heat the perimeter so the adhesive grips; edge sealing is what stops a corner lifting months later.
6. Post-heat and inspect. Run a heat gun over the panel at a safe distance, check for lifted edges, trapped water and fingers, and rework anything doubtful before the film settles.
7. Leave it to cure. Keep the car out of a wash cycle until the film has settled; in high humidity ask us for the recommended window before you hand the keys back.
8. Removal, when the day comes. Warm the film, peel slowly at a consistent angle and the adhesive comes away with it — no scraping, no solvent soak and nothing left on the paint.
